Removing the “Powered by Shopify” text from the footer of your online store is a simple process that can be done in just a few steps. This text is a default inclusion in all Shopify-powered stores, but it can be removed if you want to create a more customized look for your store. Here’s how to do it.
Step 1: Access your Shopify Theme Editor
To get started, you need to access the theme editor in your Shopify store. To do this, log in to your Shopify account, go to “Online Store” in the left-side menu, and click on “Themes.” Find the theme you want to edit and click the “Actions” button, then select “Edit code.”
Step 2: Locate the Footer Section
Once you’re in the theme editor, you need to locate the footer section. This is usually in the “Sections” folder, and it might be called “footer.liquid” or something similar. Open the footer.liquid file and take a look at the code.
Step 3: Remove the Powered by Shopify Text
Now that you’ve found the footer section, look for the text “powered_by_link.” You should be able to see it somewhere in the code. To remove it, simply delete the line of code that contains the text.
Step 4: Save and Preview Changes
Once you’ve made the changes, make sure to save your changes by clicking the “Save” button. Then, go back to your store’s front end and refresh the page to see your changes. If everything looks good, you’re done!
